Union City's Annual Tom Cain Photo Contest & exhibit were both named to honor Tom Cain's memory and his love for photography. Despite have Downs Syndrome, Tom was a talented photographer and was very active in the community and with the City of Union City. Since Tom loved to take pictures, he always had his camera by his side, ready to take a photo when he felt the moment was right. Tom photographed a number of events over the years, many of which were used in the City's advertising and marketing materials.
Tom was also a goodwill ambassador for Union City through both his love for photography and the city's programs. Everyone in the community that knew Tom, loved him, and were more than happy to oblige when he wanted to take their photo. Tom brought out the best in people and just knowing him was a treasured privilege.
